My practice as an artist explores the abstraction of human anatomy through provocative use of color and tactile expression. My work is designed to be touched, thereby facilitating a visual and physical experience between the body of the piece and the body of the viewer. The tangible elements of my pieces are made using reclaimed materials and items otherwise destined for disposal, as an expression of my interest in how our environment impacts human health.
About Me as a Person
I was born and raised in Grass Valley, California on a small hobby farm where I learned my love for nature and the arts. I graduated Willamette University with a BA in Environmental Science, although for most of my college career I took classes in set design. I love to learn new physical skills and I strive to find a career that leans into that part of me.
